Sand in my hair
grains of the tide.
Hands of the pair
hold on for the ride.
Sunset has fallen,
the stars out to play.
We are not sullen
with the lack of the day.
Stars in the dark
shards of the sky.
On a beach, in a park
there’s no need to cry.
Lying out under
a vast sky of light
we wish we may,
we wish we might
Race of the meteor
bursting with light.
To have this wish
and keep forever tonight.
